They made their debut in 2001 with their first single “Melody”, first hitting the Oricon charts with their ninth single “Dreamland”, which reached number two, and remained in the top ten for ten consecutive weeks - enough to earn them Double platinum status. Their fourth album, titled Japana-rhythm, debuted at number 1 on the Oricon charts, their first number one. Since then, the duo continues to chart regularly, including their greatest hits record, entitled Best of the Bestest, which hit number one and claiming the number two position for the following three weeks running. Shortly after the album's release, the duo passed the ten million mark for ringtone downloads. In addition, the first single from the record, "Monochrome", was the theme for the popular drama Poor Boy Bombeman. Bennie K has also been active on the concert circuit, having opened for Black Eyed Peas, performed at several rock festivals, and been invited to appear on Countdown Japan for three years running.
