Maia Hirasawa was born in stockholm Sweden, her father is Japanese, and mother is Swedish. In 2007 she made her debut with the album "Though, I'm Just Me" was acclaimed as Gold Disk in Sweden. Soon with her characteristic voice and charismatic personality attracted public attention.  2008 She won "Best newcomer" at P3 Guld, and released 2nd album "GBGVSSTHLM" in 2009, made another release EP "DROM BORT MIG IGEN". ...

Soon with her characteristic voice and charismatic personality attracted public attention.  2008 She won "Best newcomer" at P3 Guld, and released 2nd album "GBGVSSTHLM" in 2009, made another release EP "DROM BORT MIG IGEN".  While she'd lived in Sendai Japan for  about 1year as a vacation, TVCM picked up her songs such as "It Doesn't Stop" and "After Long Tomorrow", attracted fan's attention in Japan. In 2011 Maia released new album "Maia HIirasawa", sings in English, Swedish, and Japanese, made a first big hit in Japan. Soon after released this album in March, she went back to Sweden, the song for CM of Japan Railway "Boom!" was uploaded on YouTube acquired 2million views because fans in Japan believed the message in this song is a hope for victims of  the quake in Touhoku area Japan. In May she dropped mini-album"Boom!", including "Boom!","Here I am" and succeeded first national tour, joined other artist's albums such as "Juichi No Kanashii Uta("11の悲しい歌")" by the solo project of  Yasuharu Konishi ( Pizzicato Five), and JAZZTRONIK's "Dig Dig Dig" .
