The Aomori Rock Festival celebrates its 5th Anniversary and promises to be the largest one to date 

 

The 2011 outdoor Aomori Rock Festival, dubbed "The Summer Demon (Natsu no Mamono)," will be held on July 17 at the Tsugaru Earth Village Amphitheater in Tsugaru, Aomori. Celebrating its fifth year amid national efforts to achieve a speedy recovery from the devastating earthquake that struck on March 11 this year, the festival will be the sixth one to date and will be introducing for the first time a two-stage setup.  

 

Headlined by King Brothers, the show promises to be unprecedented in scale, featuring a total of 35 acts, many of whom are prominent in Japan’s current rock scene,including MONGOL800 and Kegawa No Maries. In addition, on July 9, at the "Sendai enn 2nd and 3rd," the event titled, "Sendai Rookies Vs The Summer Demon," will be held on the eve of the event.

 

The lineup of artists scheduled to appear at the Aomori Rock Festival is as follows.

Perfume and Rip Slyme now slated to perform at the SUMMER SONIC 2011 festival

 

Perfume and Rip Slyme were added to the roster of artists performing in the rock festival, "SUMMER SONIC 2011," slated to be held on August 13 in Tokyo and Osaka for two days.

 

Launched in 2000 as an urban rock festival, the SUMMER SONIC has featured legendary acts, such as Guns and Roses, Radiohead, and Stevie Wonder. This year, fans can expect to enjoy hot performances by popular artists from both Japan and abroad, including The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Strokes, X Japan, who will be staging their first performance at the festival, and Beady Eye, fronted by Liam Gallagher, the former vocalist of Oasis.
