Nippop News : Anime Song Festival thrills 50,000 (2011.09.01)

 32 groups and 65 artists, including Nana Mizuki and Momoclo, come together

The largest live Anime Song concert in the world, "The Animelo Summer Live 2011 Rainbow," was held on the 27th and 28th at the Saitama Supermarket Arena, attracting a traffic of approximately 53,500 anime-song fans over a two-day period. Nana Mizuki, Momoiro Clover Z, BREAKERZ, Ichiro Mizuki, and T.M. Revolution made surprise appearances and set the audience ablaze with excitement.

Marking its seventh anniversary this year, the event saw the performances of a total of thirty-two groups and sixty-five artists in the course of two days, treating fans to hot performances lasting over ten hours. T.M. Revolution, who appeared as surprise guests, performed FLAGS, the opening theme of the theatrical version of SENGOKU BASARA-THE LAST PARTY, and SWORD SUMMIT, the opening theme of the anime, SENGOKU BASARA 2, while Mizuki sang the eponymous opening theme of MAZINGER Z, working the audience into a fever pitch.

Other acts included Momoiro Clover Z, who charmed the audience with a cute rendition of the popular song, Z LEGEND--OWARINAKI KAKUMEI (Endless Revolution), and the BREAKERZ, who roused with their exciting interpretation of EVERLASTING LUV, the opening theme of the anime, MEITANTEI CONAN (Detective Conan). Nana Mizuki livened up the mood with numbers such as JUNKETSU PARADOX, the ending theme of the anime, BLOOD-C, and star-studded, dream collaborations, including YUI Horie & Kanna Mizuki, and Minori Chihara & Tamura Yukari, put on exciting and moving performances.

On the day of the event, the talk show, "Anisama 2011 Backstage Special, Together for Tomorrow," featuring the performers as guests, was broadcast live on Nico Nico Douga, a popular video sharing website in Japan.
